Eran Dinur is a visual effects supervisor and author. His VFX supervision credits include over 40 films and TV titles, and he is the recipient of a Primetime Emmy Award and two VES Awards. He has published two books with Routledge/Focal. Eran is also composer of vocal, instrumental and theater music.
Eran studied composition, piano and flute at the Juilliard School of Music. He wrote music for all of Israel’s major theaters, and composed and arranged music for vocal and instrumental ensembles. His vocal music was performed in the US, Germany, Switzerland, Singapore, the Netherlands, Israel, England, Finland, Japan, Italy, and Slovenia.
Eran’s career in VFX started at ILM Singapore, where he worked as a compositor on films such as Iron Man, Star Trek, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and Terminator Salvation.
After moving to New York and Joining Brainstorm Digital, Eran worked as on-set and in-house VFX supervisor on over 40 films and TV series, including: The Wolf of Wall Street, The Greatest Showman, Boardwalk Empire, Hereditary, Uncut Gems, Ad Astra, The Lost City of Z, The Lighthouse, Wonder Wheel, Papillon, Café Society, and The Men Who Built America.
For his work on Boardwalk Empire, Eran won a Primetime Emmy Award, and two Visual Effects Society Awards . He was also nominated for a VES Award for The Men Who Built America.
Eran published two books with Routledge/Focal: The Filmmaker’s Guide to Visual Effects, and The Complete Guide to Photorealism. He teaches visual effects at the School of Visual Arts in NYC, and has created several compositing and 3D environment courses for fxphd.
